Frazer-Nash will be showcasing its expertise at the Undersea Defence Technology (UDT) conference and exhibition taking place from 26-28 June.

Highlighting its in-depth understanding of naval architecture and engineering; ship design and signature management; submarines and submersibles; physical and digital systems' integration; and unmanned vehicles, the company will join professionals from across the military, industry and academia at the event, in discussing the increasing diversity of threats and challenges facing the underwater defence and security community.

Held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow, less than two miles from Frazer-Nash's Glasgow office, this year's themes include: sensors and processing, autonomous and unmanned systems, and platform design.

Frazer-Nash technical expert, Chris G Jones, will present on 'Using model based systems engineering to evaluate the effectiveness of future manned and unmanned underwater submarine concepts' at the conference on 27 June at 16:10. Chris describes the theme of his talk:

"In a world where disruptive technologies are driving changes that were unimaginable just a few years ago, maritime developers are having to predict the future - identifying the potential effects of innovative concepts, and the benefits, challenges and threats they will deliver to the underwater battlespace of the future.

"I'll be highlighting how model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools can help to rapidly assess submarine design risk, requirements and interfaces. MBSE allows you to evaluate high level parametric models of operational concepts: by simulating them against operational examples you can evaluate the effectiveness of each concept against your capability requirements."

You can find Frazer-Nash at the Department for International Trade stand (E56) at UDT, or find out more about our underwater technology expertise here.
