Frazer-Nash Consultancy is proud to continue its support for a low carbon future across the entire nuclear lifecycle – driving towards the UK’s Net-Zero target – through the announcement that it will extend its support to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) as a Tier 1 supplier under a new technical framework.
The ONR is the regulator for the nuclear industry in the UK, and is recognised internationally for nuclear best practice. With 36 licensed nuclear sites in Great Britain, the ONR’s mission is to protect society by securing safe nuclear operations.
In 2019, the UK became the first major economy in the world to pass laws to significantly reduce its carbon contribution to global warming by 2050.
In alignment with these targets, Frazer-Nash has been supporting the ONR in a varied capacity for over 14 years. When the regulator’s first Technical Support Framework (TSF) – established in 2018 – was released, Frazer-Nash was enlisted as a Tier 1 supplier; providing the ONR with a robust and streamlined procurement route to proven expertise, capabilities, and capacity to support regulatory duties.
Following involvement under the first framework, Frazer-Nash gained credibility as a trusted and responsible prime (Tier 1) supplier.
Building on that reputation, Frazer-Nash has once again been selected as a Tier 1 supplier for Lot 3 under the new technical support framework, which will require support across a broad range of nuclear technical discipline areas.
The upcoming framework launches on 1 November 2022 and will run for four years.
