Frazer-Nash rotor dynamics expert, Greg Nelson, will be presenting at Turbo Expo 2022, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) International Gas Turbine Institute’s Turbomachinery Technical Conference and Exposition in June 2022.
Taking place from 13 June at Rotterdam’s Ahoy Convention Centre in The Netherlands, the event will see more than 2,000 turbomachinery and propulsion engineering leaders from industry, academia, and government discussing ‘Road mapping the future of propulsion and power’. The conference programme aims to showcase the latest research in the sector, and encourages international collaboration to deliver carbon-neutral turbomachinery solutions.
Greg’s presentation, on ‘Condition Monitoring Insight Using Bayesian Inference and Rotor Dynamics Modelling for Rotating Machinery’, will be delivered as part of the Probabilistic Methods session taking place on Tuesday 14 June at 4pm.
Describing his interesting presentation, Greg said:
“We routinely collect a lot of data from turbomachinery, including vibration measurements, but there is a lot more value in that information than is normally realised. Come and hear my presentation, to find out about how combining machine learning techniques and physics based rotor dynamics models can be used to infer far more about plant condition from data that is probably already being collected, making for a real time, physics based digital twin capability.”
Greg added:
“I’m really looking forward to taking part in Turbo Expo 2022, and meeting other rotating machinery professionals from across the world for lots of interesting technical conversations around rotor dynamics and digital twin techniques.
